We started Village Wardrobe with a simple idea: the best clothes shouldn’t sit in closets.
We partner with local dry cleaners to offer a trusted, sustainable experience — every item is professionally cleaned between rentals and available for pick-up just down the street. There are no warehouses, no fast fashion, no subscription models. Just intentional style, circulating locally. By extending the life of beautiful clothing and supporting small businesses, Village Wardrobe helps fashion feel more personal and more responsible.
We’re starting in Boston, but we’re building something bigger: A new kind of closet. Rooted in trust. Powered by neighbors. Made to last.
From the Founders
When we were living in tiny West Village apartments and constantly buying new dresses for weddings, events, and weekends away, it finally clicked. Why couldn’t we borrow dresses from our neighbors the way we borrow from our friends? That’s when the Village Wardrobe concept was born.
Three years later, Maria was starting at Harvard Business School and Macon was ready to build something outside of her corporate world. So we decided to go for it — to solve the problem we kept running into, and to help other women feel stylish and sustainable about how they get dressed.
This pilot is just the beginning, and we’re so grateful to the early community helping us bring Village Wardrobe to life. Thanks for being part of it.
xx,
Maria & Macon
